Lemon Bars

Here is the recipe for Laraine Kresge’s World Famous Lemon Bars!  It’s a recipe from her grandmother!

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Sift 2 cups flour and powdered sugar together.  Cut in butter until mixture clings together.  PRESS into a 9” x 13” baking pan.  BAKE at 350o for 20 to 25 minutes.  BEAT TOGETHER eggs, sugar and lemon juice.  Sift 1/4 cup flour and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture.  POUR over the baked crust and bake at 350o for 25 more minutes.  SPRINKLE with powdered sugar when done.
