Cake Batter
- 3 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Tang (orange drink mix)
- 1 cup cooking oil
- ½ cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 eggs
Apple Mixture
- 4 cups sliced apples (about 3 large)
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Tang (optional)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Topping
- ¾ cup flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup butter, softened
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cake batter ingredients. Beat on low speed with an electric mixer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the Apple Mixture.
- Prepare the Topping by mixing until crumbs form.
- Pour half the cake batter into the prepared pan.
- Layer with half of the apple mixture.
- Add the remaining cake batter, then top with the remaining apple mixture.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the top.
- Bake 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
