JOIN US FOR THE CELEBRATE WITH QUILTS SEW-ALONG!

We are going to use Piece & Quilt Sampler from Celebrate with Quilts by Lissa Alexander and Susan Ache for our upcoming Sew-Along.
Why this quilt? First, we simply loved the quilt on the cover! But we also loved the versatility the book offers. With its wide variety of traditional blocks and multiple block sizes, there are plenty of opportunities to play with color, fabric and placement. Best of all, the cutting and piecing directions are already right there in the book.
And here’s another reason we liked it: there’s no appliqué, no curved piecing, and relatively few points to match. The blocks rely primarily on straightforward traditional piecing, making this a quilt that quilters with a wide range of experience can enjoy.
The Piece & Quilt Sampler includes 22 different blocks, surrounded by a Saw Tooth border. The finished quilt, including borders, measures 72½” × 91¼”.
HOW WILL THE SEW-ALONG WORK?
We’ll tackle two blocks each month, making this a relaxed, manageable project that gives everyone plenty of time to keep up — and perhaps work on a few other projects along the way!
Because Celebrate with Quilts is a copyrighted publication, the Guild cannot reproduce or distribute the patterns or cutting instructions. Everyone participating will need to have access to a copy of the book in order to follow along. How you arrange that access is entirely up to you!
We’ll provide the monthly block assignments, encouragement, inspiration and, of course, the fun of seeing how differently the same quilt can develop in everyone’s hands. We can’t wait to see what you create!
September, 2026: Choose your fabrics, find your copy of Celebrate with Quilts, and come sew along with us. We can’t wait to see what you create!
October, 2026: Framed Star Block, p.154; It consists of twelve 3″ Shoofly blocks and one 6″ Dandy Star block.
