Chocolate Chip Cookies – The Original & the Best!

Make 5 Dozen Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup flour                                         
  • 1 tsp baking soda                            
  • 1 tsp salt                                         
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter                               
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12-oz pkg) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (opt)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375oF.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.  Beat the butter, sugars and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.  Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.  Gradually beat in the flour mixture.  Stir in the chocolate chips and the nuts.  Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.  Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.Preheat oven to 375oF.
