Christmas Gnomes Brownie Bites

from Deb Miller

Equipment: piping bag, toothpicks, knife, cutting board, paper towels

Ingredients

  • 12 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frosting (doesn’t have to be exact)
  • 12 brownie bites
  • Cocoa Puffs, Reese’s Puffs, Red Hots, etc.

Instructions

  1. Make your brownie bites unless you are using store-bought brownie bites.  Use any brownie recipe and bake them in a mini-muffin pan to make the bites.  Allow them to cool completely.
  2. Rinse and dry the strawberries.
  3. Slice the stems off the strawberries and make the cut as flat as possible.
  4. Place some frosting in a piping bag or zip lock bag with the corner snipped off.  Add frosting to the top of each brownie bite.
  5. Add the strawberries on top of each brownie bite creating the “hats”.
  6. If the strawberry isn’t staying on, use a toothpick.
  7. Add frosting on the front of the brownie to create the beard.
  8. Place a Red Hot, Cocoa Puff or Reese’s Puff in the beard to make a nose.
  9. That is it, super easy.  Enjoy!

NOTE: if you plan on making the brownies from scratch, make sure the brownies have cooled completely before assembling the gnomes.  If needed, chill them in the fridge for a bit first.

TIP: If the strawberry keeps sliding off the brownie, you can use a toothpick to keep them in place.  Just let your guests know if there is a toothpick in there.
